Requesting Records & Evidence
The Records Division is the central repository for all police generated reports. The Records and Evidence Divisions are located within the police station.
Citizens can review the daily log, request offense and accident reports, in-car camera recordings, photographs, criminal background checks, obtain fingerprinting service, alarm permits, and property and evidence at the records counter.Farmington Police Department

Upon entering through the double glass doors, the Records Division counter is immediately to your left. Records personnel can facilitate your right to inspect public records Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed on major holidays and weekends) or by calling (505) 599-1053.
Forms can be faxed to Records at (505) 599-1045.
Offense Reports & Background Checks
Complete the Request to Inspect Public Records Form. The fee for offense reports is $.50 per page. There is no charge if you are named in the report. Background checks, which only include arrests made by Farmington Police for the past five years, are $5.
Copies of accident reports can be obtained online by registering for an account, paying a processing fee, and the $2 records fee. There is no fee for individuals listed in the accident report. The no-cost report for those individuals may only be obtained at the Records window during normal business hours.
DVD In-Car Camera Recordings
You must complete a FPD DVD Request Form. A search for the film footage will be conducted by the Information Technology Division. There is a $20 fee per DVD. Please allow 14 business days from the date of the request.
Complete the Photograph CD Request Form, be sure to include the case number so your photos can be located. The form will be forwarded to the department's crime lab for research and processing. Digital photos are copied onto a CD at the rate of $15. Allow three to seven days for processing.
Fingerprint ServiceThis service is offered Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Urgent Care Substation, located at 4820 E. Main. You must provide your fingerprint cards, $5 for the first two, $5 for each card thereafter and have a valid state issued I.D.
You must complete an Alarm Registration Form (PDF) / Alarm Registration Email Form. Contact Records and request to be transferred to the Records Technician in regards to submitting the alarm registration. This is required if you contract with an alarm company for locations within the Farmington city limits.
Property & Evidence
Property and evidence is maintained within the Records Division. Claim letters/vouchers for property that has been authorized for release are mailed to owners. Call to schedule the pickup of items in voucher, or for any other inquiries regarding property, by contacting Records at (505) 599-1053 or Police Information at (505) 599-1070 and asking for the Evidence Unit.
All other inquiries for property can be directed to the evidence technician by contacting Records. Property that has been authorized for public auction is forwarded to the City of Farmington's Municipal Operation Center. For items transferred from police property to auction go to the City Auction site.
