The Farmington Police Department would like to invite community members between the ages of 14 and 20 to join the Farmington Police Department Explorer Post. This program provides participants with an inside look at the field of law enforcement.
Explorers currently meet bi-monthly and receive instruction from officers on various topics including, but not limited to, firearms training, traffic stops, bomb threat response, and domestic violence incidents. Explorers then have the opportunity to apply that knowledge as “officers” during mock scenarios. Explorers also participate in monthly ride-alongs where they accompany a patrol officer during his/her shift.
The Farmington Police Department Explorer Post is a great opportunity for those who are interested in a career in law enforcement or who just want to learn more about what police officers do. For more information, please email Officer Genson, or call 505-330-4807.
*Participants must have graduated the 8th grade to be eligible*
