The Farmington MPO uses a travel demand model to help inform elected officials, technical staff and the general public on potential traffic and fiscal impacts of road projects within the MPO planning area. It should be understood that this a predictive tool and should not be interpreted as an exact science. The following images illustrate the potential travel pattern changes with the construction of the Pinon Hills Bridge over the Animas River. The future 2025 no-build scenario was subtracted from the 2025 build out scenario to show where traffic would increase (red) and decrease (blue). Decreased traffic congestion will result on E. Main, Browning Parkway, Hutton Ave, whereas increased traffic will occur on county roads in the Crouch Mesa area leading to the Bridge.
