STREET RESTRICTION & CLOSURE NOTICES


Please be advised:

  • US Hwy. 64 between Browning Pkwy. and Dustin Ave. is RESTRICTED with one lane open each direction for traffic. Gas has been shut off while repairs are being made. Estimated time for repairs and patching: Friday evening, June 23, 2017.

  • E. Hopi St. between Dustin Ave. and Butler Ave. will be RESTRICTED beginning Tuesday, April 4, 2017 through  Friday, June 23, 2017  to allow for removal and replacement of waterline. Construction Hours: 8 am - 5 pm
  • Coronado Ave. between 33rd St. and 35th St. will be RESTRICTED beginning Monday, June 19, 2017 through Friday, July 19, 2017 to allow for water utility repairs. Construction Hours: 8 am - 5 pm
  • Farmington Ave. at E. Main St., as well as the left hand and right hand turn lanes from E. Main St. onto Farmington Ave. will be CLOSED beginning Wednesday, June 21, 2017 through Friday, June 30, 2017 to allow for utility repairs. Construction Hours: 8 am - 5 pm
  • Westbound lanes at E. Main St. and Villa View Dr. will be RESTRICTED Wednesday, June 21, 2017 through Thursday, June 22, 2017 to allow for signal maintenance. Construction Hours: 8 am - 4 pm
Detours and barricading will be in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes if possible.

PIÑON HILLS BLVD. ROAD CONSTRUCTION


Piñon Hills Blvd. between La Plata Highway and Main Street is currently undergoing a multi-step road management process including patch work, hot in-place recycle, crack sealing and re-striping.  The crack sealing is scheduled for completion by Friday, May 12, 2017; then, the micro-surfacing process will begin on Piñon Hills on Monday, May 22, 2017, with an estimated completion date of Friday, June 2, 2017.
 
Micro-surfacing and Slurry Seal processes will also be completed on other city streets, with an estimated completion date of Monday, September 18, 2017.  A tentative schedule of streets and a map of locations will be posted here on our website, as soon as it becomes available.

What is Slurry Seal? 

A slurry seal is the application of a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion, aggregate (very small crushed rock), and additives to an existing asphalt pavement surface. 

What is Micro-Surfacing? 
Micro-surfacing consists of the application of a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion, aggregate (very small crushed rock), and chemical additives to an existing asphalt concrete pavement surface.

CRACKSEAL PROJECT



A major street maintenance project will begin Monday, March 13, 2017 through Friday, July 19, 2017. Crackseal will be completed on several streets throughout the City.

20TH STREET SIDEWALK PROJECT



A major street maintenance project will begin Tuesday, April 4, 2017 through Friday, June 16, 2017. Sidewalk improvements will be completed on 20th St. between Sullivan Ave. and Clayton Ave..

20TH STREET STORM DRAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT



A major storm drain replacement project is scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 10, 2017 and continue through June 23, 2017. 20th Street between Clayton Avenue and Main Street will be COMPLETELY CLOSED NIGHTLY to allow for storm drain replacement. Daytime lane restrictions will also be in place to allow for paving of the previous night’s work.

2P WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT



A major waterline replacement project is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 2, 2017 and continue through November 13, 2017. Westbound traffic on East Murray Drive / Bloomfield Highway / US 64 will be RESTRICTED between Browning Parkway and Camina Entrada; AND, southbound traffic on Sandstone Avenue will be RESTRICTED between Southside River Road and Bloomfield Highway/US 64.

FOOTHILLS DR. WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT



A major waterline replacement project is scheduled to begin Monday, June 12, 2017 and continue through August 11, 2017. Lanes will be RESTRICTED on Foothills Dr. between Hill N Dale Dr. & Holmes Dr.. Customers in the immediate area may experience periodic interruptions in service. Customer will be notified in advance of any scheduled water outages.
