We are still in desperate need of volunteers for the LEGO League qualifier on December 14! We are the largest qualifier in the state and we have to have at least 14 more volunteers to make this happen. There are opportunities to help even if you can't be there the whole day, so please contact Cherie Powell if you are interested, firstname.lastname@example.org, (505) 566-2279.
This year (and years to come we hope) E3 Children's Museum and Science Center will be hosting the New Mexico FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL). This is a great opportunity to see kids ages 9-14 and their amazing robotic skills!!! Remember this event can not happen without all of our wonderful community volunteers like YOU!
The qualifier will be held at Tibbetts Middle School on December 14th from 7:30-5:30.
We have 26 teams registered for this year's qualifier, so it will be a fun-packed day!!!!
Here are what we need from volunteers for a successful tournament:
- Referees (training is available)
- Project, Robot, Core Values Judges (training is available)
- Table re-setters (can be under 18 and training is available)
- Someone 4-6pm to file rubrics at the end of the day to give back to coaches (can be under 18)
- Pit Manager (training is available)
Do you need to know ANYTHING about FLL? NO, but you will know EVERYTHING by the time we hold the qualifier. This is a BIG deal for our area and an even BIGGER deal for E3.
Find out more about FLL at www.firstinspires.org/
Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who may be interested.
