Farmington, NM – At approximately 8:00 a.m. today Farmington police responded to the 3800 block of Bellflower Circle in reference to an armed subject. The reporting party explained that he and his wife had an argument and that he left the residence. He returned shortly later to retrieve items for work. When he entered the residence he found his wife with a handgun and saw that shots had been fired inside the home. The man exited the residence at which time he heard a shot go off. The man then called police.
Due to the nature of the call, a perimeter was established around the residence and the Farmington Police Department SWAT team responded. Just before 2:00 p.m. the female exited the house and police took her into custody without further incident. Police are seeking an arrest warrant for the 41-year-old female for negligent use of a deadly weapon, resisting and obstructing, and criminal damage to property of a household member.
