    Riverside Nature Center

    Join a group of beginning and experienced birders for a walk every Tuesday, and follow the changing seasons. Over 150 species of birds have been seen in Animas and Berg Parks, and this is your chance to see some of them. Bring your binoculars and bird book, or borrow some at the Nature Center. Come early for coffee and to observe birds at the feeders before the walk begins.

  2. Picnic in the Park

    Families with toddlers and preschool children are invited to come to Riverside Nature Center for a picnic. This program is tailored for young children and their parents, with stroller-friendly walks, activities using all our senses, and feeding the ducks! Bring your lunch to the nature center and eat inside or out, depending on the weather, followed by a short walk or activity. We will finish by 12:30 p.m., just in time for afternoon naps. come dressed to enjoy the outdoors with your little ones.

    Would you like to learn more about herbs, native plants, and xeriscape landscaping, or do you just enjoy gardening? Come and help prepare the Riverside Nature Center Xeriscape Demonstration Gardens in Animas Park, Farmington for fall as staff and volunteers groom the gardens, update the signs, and enjoy working together. There are tasks for everyone, whatever your skills or physical abilities.

    Join the Halloween fun at Orchard Park in historic downtown Farmington at this family-friendly event! Activities include Trick-or-Treating on Main Street vendor activities and costume contests for all ages. Don't miss it - it's sure to be spookatcular! Costume Contest: Sign-up on sight at the stage at Orchard Park (corner of Orchard Avenue and Main Street) by 4:45 p.m. FREE to enter. There are various age categories for 0-adult and one for groups.
