The Farmington Museum invites you to view an expansive display of historic and contemporary photography at this new exhibit. Farmington has changed dramatically over the years. Experience a slice of Farmington's past in comparison to what it is today. This unique exhibit uses both photography and historic objects to show the evolution of Farmington from small agricultural settlement to the bustling city of today. There will be a reception on Saturday, November 9, from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. While you browse the exhibit, enjoy the festivities that will be taking place for the Farmington Museum Foundation’s annual One Great Day of Shopping extravaganza event.

Attention artists! Get your work prepared for entry into the 2014 Gateway to Imagination: A National Juried Art Competition. The show will take place at the Farmington Museum from May 10 - July 12, 2014. All media accepted, open to artists 18 years and older, artwork must have been completed after January 1, 2013. The show will award $2,750 in cash prizes. There is a $35 entry fee for a maximum of 2 digital files. The entry deadline is March 15, 2014 and the prospectus can be found online at www.farmingtonmuseum.org. Online registration and submissions are available. There will be a juror lecture and reception on May 17, 2014.

Farmington Clean & Beautiful encourages you to think green when your Christmas tree fades. Bring natural Christmas trees to either of two locations and drop them off to be recycled for this seasonal service during daylight hours. Trees will be collected at Berg Park (in the dirt lot behind Washington Federal Bank) on San Juan Blvd. and at Fire Station 5 on 30th St. near Butler Ave. Trees must be free of all foreign material – if the tree didn’t grow it, it must be removed before the tree is dropped off.
January 10 - June 6 @ Farmington Indian Center
Applications due by Friday, June 6 2014. Pageant will be held at the Farmington Civic Center on Friday, June 13, 2014, 5:30 to 9:30 pm. Eligibility requirements: Must be a resident of Farmington, between the ages of 12-18, and provide proof of Tribal enrollment.
January 11, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Riverside Nature Center
Meet at the Riverside Nature Center. Take a walk through Animas Park looking for tracks and traces of the animals who live here. If weather permits, make a plaster cast of a track to take home. Nature Center staff and volunteers will help everyone learn more about the wildlife of the park.
January 11, 5:30 PM - 10:00 PM @ Farmington Recreation Center
Hey kids ages 7-14!! This program is back for the fall! Come to the Farmington Recreation Center the 2nd Saturday of each month through January, for an evening full of fun activities! Dodgeball, basketball, wallyball, four square, music, movies, board games, good eats, and more is on the agenda! This is a great place to hang out with your friends! Event is planned and supervised by the Recreation Center staff, with entry sign-in and sign-out. The Recreation Center is closed to the public during this event. Don't miss the party! Registration is limited, so sign-up now at fmtn.org/recreation, under the quick links tab on the right.
