Atomic Teen Science Cafes are for teens interested in current science and interacting with scientists in a fun and informal way. The leadership team is for teens interested in helping behind the scenes to make the Science Cafes happen. The leadership team will take ownership of the Atomic Teen Science Café programming by selecting topics, advertising, and recruiting other teens to participate. The Green Revolution is a revolutionary exhibition with a minimal carbon footprint that allows host institutions and communities to be part of the green solution. Made available by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service based on an exhibition originally created by the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, and its Black Creativity Council, the exhibition uses recycled and repurposed materials to teach creative ways to reduce waste and conserve energy. Multiple hands-on learning stations give this exhibition a green light for families and school groups. Aiming to raise awareness of how small daily changes can impact our environment, it has something for everyone - as compelling for kids who are just learning about the subject to adults who have a more earnest environmental message to convey.
Part of American history and culture from the beginning, quilts are much more than bed coverings. quilts are also family heirlooms and works of art that have stories to tell. Some stories are obvious, written on the fabric itself, while others require a closer examination to uncover. "Quilts and the Stories They Tell" showcases examples made locally alongside quilts brought into the region.
The Totah Festival is a marketplace where Native American artists share their skills and craftsmanship with the community, visitors, and each other. The festival, held every Labor Day weekend in Farmington, features a fine art show, Pow-Wow, cultural dance expo, and Navajo rug auction. In years past, artists were encouraged to submit designs for the annual advertising poster. In conjunction with this year's festival, the Farmington Museum will showcase all of the posters created since 1989.

Get a team together and register for our Adult Coed Kickball League this fall. All players must be 18 years or older. Registration must be completed in-person at the Farmington Recreation Center by August 25 at 9:00 p.m. Games are Fridays from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. from September 1 - October 27.

Join us for a thirty minute beginning yoga class at Sycamore Park Community Center, 1051 Sycamore Street in Farmington at noon this fall in the park with Carla Martin. Bring a water bottle and yoga mat if you have one. Vinyasa and Hatha yoga styles will be used. In the event of bad weather, class will be moved inside.
