New Mexico has become a world-renowned place for dinosaur discoveries. Fossils found in the state have helped scientists learn how dinosaurs lived, how they evolved, and how they went extinct. Since opening in 1986, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science has become the number one place to view dinosaurs from New Mexico. Now their collection will be on display at the Farmington Museum.

The Handmade art show grew out of a desire to help promote local art and artists. Comprised of individuals from around the Four Corners region, the lobby exhibition showcases the wonderful diversity of local talent working in a variety of mediums and techniques. The show is also meant to give these artists another venue to sell their art, and everything featured in the show is for sale. To lean more about the art and artists, please see the accompanying publication Handmade a Guide to the Arts found at www.handmadeartistguide.com.

Maps have been used since the dawn of civilization to document places and to show physical features, such as rivers, roads, and boundaries. Upon closer examination, they also provide insights into the people that made them and the times in which they were created. Showcasing a variety of examples from the late nineteenth century to the present, the exhibition, North, South, East and West uses maps from the Farmington Museum collection to explore the history of the region.
