Outdoor Movie

Saturday, September 11

7:00 p.m.

Outdoor Movie at Ricketts Park.  Join us as we float away on an adventure during an evening to remember with the Disney/Pixar movie “Up.”  Bring a picnic basket and a blanket or chair and enjoy the show from the field or leave the chair at home and sit in the stands.  The gates will open at 6:30 p.m. for anybody that has pre-purchased a ticket and at 7:00 p.m. for all others.  The movie will begin at dusk.  Alcohol and large coolers will not be allowed, but concessions will be available at the park.  Tickets are a $3 per person suggested donation and available at the gate or in advance at the Farmington Civic Center, Farmington Recreation Center, Farmington Aquatic Center, Farmington Museum, E3 Children’s Museum & Science Center, Riverside Nature Center, and Sycamore Park Community Center.  For more information, call (505) 599-1197.

The Movie – Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and now in his 78th year he launches his house into the sky via thousands of balloons. Right after liftoff he discovers he has a stowaway in the form of an over optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. This hilarious journey takes you into a lost world with the least likely duo on Earth.

The Food – The concession stand will be open to purchase snacks and the kids from the Sycamore Park Community Center will be selling Rice Crispy Treats to raise money to build a skate park.

The Raffle – Each ticket holder will be presented with a raffle ticket at the ticket booth when they arrive at the park.  The earlier you arrive, the better chance you have to win some donated raffle items.  Between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., we will draw raffle tickets and give away prizes so be sure to show up by 7:00 p.m.

Other Cool Stuff – SQUIRREL!  Oh wait . . . that’s Ringo.  The department mascot, Ringo, will be in attendance to give out hugs to all who want them.  All kids who show up to the movie wearing their official Boy Scout or Girl Scout uniform receive a free ticket to the movie at the gate!  All Bigs who present their BBBS card at the gate will receive a free ticket to the movie for their Little!

Policy for publishing pictures: The Farmington Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs department will be publishing photographs taken during public events at each of our facilities or at any local event sponsored by this department. Please be aware that we will take crowd shots at public events and will publish them.
