The New Regional Animal Shelter

Four years and six months ago we had a dream. That dream was to build a new, modern, regional animal shelter to provide a haven for unwanted, lost or ill animals.  Our hope was to give more animals a new lease on life.
This became a reality on February 13, 2013 when ground was broken for construction of a new shelter.

The anticipated Regional Animal Shelter will replace the Farmington Animal Shelter and, upon completion, become one of the area's premier animal shelters. The new shelter will have a visible location at the corner of Browning Parkway and the entrance to Animas Park, with ample space for future expansion.

The reality of this shelter was made possible because of the many businesses, schools, organizations, and individuals who, with their donations, became “owners” in the new facility. However, many additions for the shelter are still needed.

This new shelter will mark a new era in homeless pet care for the Four Corners and you can be a part of it! Be a part of history in the making and support this project.

We are asking, if you would like to have “ownership” by making a contribution of your choice. Here are some possibilities:

Y Any and all donations will be listed in Friendship Book and/or Memorial Book

               Y Cat cage - $250.00

               Y Dog kennel - $500.00

Y Donor wall (with choice of dog kennel or cat cage) - $1000.00

Each tax deductible donation will carry permanent recognition on the shelter donor wall, dog kennel, cat cage, Friendship Book, or Memorial Book depending on your level of contribution.  The animals of San Juan County would appreciate your generosity. Donations may be sent to:

There are plenty of donation opportunities. Even the smallest amount can make the difference.  Thank you!
