Email Neighborhood Watch

neighborhood watch.pngHave you seen a strange car in your neighborhood, or someone that looked just a little out of place? How about a car in the alley at dusk, or a house that is getting traffic at all hours of the night?

The Farmington Police Department is continuing its goal of providing a safe community through professional law enforcement. In order to better meet this goal, we are asking for help from the community through involvement in neighborhood watch programs. You are the best asset we have in regards to suspicious activity and crime in your neighborhood, because you know when something is out of the ordinary.

This program will not require your attendance at meetings at a set date or time. We have built an information sharing network through e-mail, in which information can be passed between neighbors and a police officer specifically working in your neighborhood. You can then review the information at your convenience from your phone or computer.

With this program, the police department can learn valuable information from you to prevent and solve crimes. The police department will also then have the ability to distribute information directly to you regarding crimes in your neighborhood and current trends in crimes we are seeing.

The more citizens we can get involved in this program, the better it will succeed. With lower crime rates comes a better quality of life for all of us and a lower cost of living. Likewise, fewer burglaries, vandalism, and other similar crimes will keep our parks and neighborhoods nice and our families and kids safer. Please help us in keeping our community clean, safe, and prosperous for years to come.
