A new state law went into effect on January 1, 2020, requiring vacation rental property owners to collect lodgers’ tax. Vacation rental properties within Farmington city limits are required to remit those taxes to the City of Farmington per Farmington Municipal Code, (Sec 8-12-7). Payments must be submitted before the 20th day of each month at the City of Farmington Finance Division located at 800 Municipal Drive, Farmington, NM 87401

Accepted forms of payment include:

  • Money Orders
  • Cashier’s Checks
  • Credit/Debit Cards
  • Personal Checks with proper ID

The City of Farmington recently partnered with Farmington Convention and Visitors Bureau to provided training to the public on the new law. Anyone who was not able to attend the training may view the presentation HERE.
