Farmington Metropolitan Planning Organization to host virtual open houses
Seeking public input for 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan
FARMINGTON, N.M. - The Farmington Metropolitan Planning Organization is seeking public input for the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan. The plan will examine regional transportation issues and develop a vision for meeting long-term needs across all modes of transportation (single-occupancy vehicles, public transit, pedestrian, bicycle, aviation and freight). As funding for transportation is limited, the plan will also consider how to best utilize federal funding available to the region.
Input gathered from the public during two virtual open houses will help guide plan development. In addition, attendees will learn about the region’s transportation system.
The virtual open houses will take place on June 24 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Anyone interested in participating is asked to send an email to fmpo@fmtn.org by June 22 for log-in information. Email should indicate which session the participant is interested in attending.
The MPO is encouraging the public to take this opportunity to help shape transportation planning for the region. For additional information and updates, follow @FarmingtonMPO on Facebook and visit their website at farmingtonmpo.org.
