Street Closures in the Downtown Area: Sept 2019

Dear Downtown Business Owners:

By request here is a list of all known street closures through the end of September, especially important due to the frequency of events during this time of the year. Please note that some of the specific road closure information has not been determined or approved, so future notifications may be forthcoming. This information is subject to change. Events are subject to change due to inclement weather.

This list includes City events and non-City events, however other parade and event road closure requests may not have been submitted or approved as of the date of this notification. The City will do our best to forward any street closure information as it is received.

Downtown Off-Road Takeover: permit approved

Please be advised that Main Street from Locke Avenue to Commercial Avenue
AND N. Orchard from Main Street to Arrington AND N. Allen from Main Street
to the north alleyway will be CLOSED Friday, September 6th for the Downtown Off-Road Takeover.

The road closure will be in place by 4:30PM until 11:30pm.

The event is from 6pm to 10pm. Participating vehicles will be entering at N. Orchard. Please note that during the 4x4 Week (Wed-Sat) expect 4x4 off-road vehicles in the downtown area.

Detours and barricading will be in place. Barricading will be in place as required by permit. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. Employees and residents are advised to park away from the event. Landlords are required to notify tenants. FREE public parking lots will remain open.

Four Corners Film Festival: permit approved

Please be advised that Main Street between Allen and Commercial AND N. Orchard Avenue between Main Street and Arrington will be CLOSED Saturday, September 14th for the Block Party for the Four Corners Film Festival.

The road closure will be in place by 7:30pm until 12:00am/Midnight. The Block Party is from 9pm-11pm.

Please note that during the Four Corners Film Festival Week (Sept 10th-15th) expect an increase in vehicles and pedestrians in the downtown area.

Detours and barricading will be in place. Motorists are advised to seek alternate route. Employees and residents are advised to park away from the event. Landlords are required to notify tenants. FREE public parking lots will remain open.

The purpose of this newsletter is to be transparent and open about our plans for this large-scale infrastructure investment with the downtown stakeholders. We recognize the potential for economic growth that could result from a project of this magnitude, but also the challenges that come.
